New this week

Issue #1, week of Oct 12–16, 2026. Welcome to the first ToolVerdict. Each week we pick the AI tool releases that matter to people who build with AI, and tell you in plain English who should care. Every item links to its source.

Pick of the week: Lovable's browser-agent tools

The model launches will keep coming every week. Lovable's change is the one that alters what a vibe-coded app can do: agents can use it, safely, by default. Read-only and undoable actions come first, and riskier tools are only added when you ask. That's the right default for letting agents operate a live product.

Gemini 4 Argon is out for developers, and it's already in Copilot, Cursor and Lovable

Google's new frontier model targets long, multi-step coding work like migrations. It's on the paid Gemini API, it's in Copilot for Pro+ and higher plans, and Lovable apps can use it for their AI features (at a premium price). If you do big refactors, it's worth a try in the editor you already use.

Meta releases Muse Spark Open, an open-weight model built for coding agents

816B parameters (42B active) with a 1M-token context, and hosted on OpenRouter, Groq, Together AI and others from day one. Builders who want an open model for agent work can try it through an API they may already use. Check the Muse Model License before you use it commercially; Meta says its commercial terms are limited.

Meta launches Muse Wonder on its Model API at $4 / $20 per million tokens

A new closed frontier model aimed at long-running agents and coding, available through Muse Code and Meta's API. If you compare model costs for an agent product, add it to your test list.

VS Code 1.142 adds agent canvases and lets you move a chat into a Git worktree

Canvases (preview) give you and the agent a shared visual board, like a Kanban, instead of only chat. Moving a chat into a new worktree keeps its context while isolating the agent's edits. Useful for anyone who runs agents in VS Code.

Lovable apps can now give browser AI agents safe, scoped tools (WebMCP)

Turn on agent integrations and Lovable adds browser tools so an AI agent in a visitor's own tab can act on your app, like marking a task done. Tools that delete, pay, send, publish or share are only added when you ask. If you build on Lovable, this is an early way to make your app usable by agents.

Cursor's Origin code hosting now has 20+ integrations and an open app marketplace

Origin, Cursor's git hosting (in early beta), now connects to Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare, Sentry, Linear, CodeRabbit and more. Only relevant if you're trying Origin; for most people GitHub is still home base.

GitHub makes AI Scan for pull requests and agentic autofix generally available

AI Scan looks for vulnerabilities in PR changes in languages CodeQL doesn't cover, and agentic autofix proposes fixes for code-scanning alerts. Vibe-coded apps often ship without a security review, so if your code lives on GitHub, it's worth checking whether your plan includes these.
